Shares of SoundHound AI (SOUN) soared for a second day Thursday after the maker of artificial intelligence (AI) voice technology announced its product would be added to more Stellantis (STLA)-owned car brands in Europe.

The company said Wednesday that its SoundHound Chat AI voice assistant with integrated ChatGPT “is now live and in production in Peugeot, Opel, and Vauxhall vehicle brands across 11 European markets.” It added that by the end of this month, the rollout will include six more European markets in 12 different languages.

SoundHound Product Went Into Stellantis’ DS Automobiles Earlier This Year

SoundHound noted that in March, Stellantis-owned French luxury carmaker DS Automobiles became the first international automotive company to go into full production with the technology. 

SoundHound Chat AI with integrated ChatGPT allows drivers to have hands-free voice control over a variety of functions, including getting answers to questions about any topic.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Michael Zagorsek explained that the collaboration with Stellantis “has put both companies right at the cutting edge of innovation in the automotive sector.”

SoundHound AI shares, which soared 22% Wednesday, were up a further 6.5% to $5.40 as of 11:53 a.m. ET Thursday and have added more than 150% year-to-date. Stellantis shares have lost about 13% of their value in 2024.
